Question Description

I'm working on a business law discussion question and need a sample draft to help me understand better.

On Monday, Bruce Wayne took his truck to Batwing Service Center for repairs. Over the past few days, Bruce noticed a problem with both the steering system and the braking system. On Friday Bruce called Batwing Service Center to see if his truck was ready because he wanted to take a road trip. Alfred, Batwing Service Center’s manager, told Bruce that the steering system had been fixed, but they were waiting for replacement parts in order to fix the braking system. Alfred told Bruce they needed another few days to finish the repairs. Bruce told Alfred he would come get the truck, use it for the weekend and then bring it back on Monday to have them finish their work. While driving through a small country town, Bruce had an accident because the brakes on his truck failed. Bruce's truck crashed into a telephone pole. The pole then fell over and landed on two nearby cars. As a result, one of the cars exploded causing a fire that resulted in a nearby home burning to the ground. Luckily, there were no bodily injuries.

Discuss how a court would determine causation (actual and proximate) in a negligence suit against Bruce. Explain your answer in detail.
