Question Description

I'm working on a sociology project and need support to help me understand better.

Please fill out the following prompts (should be around 2 pages):

(1) General subject; why does this subject interest you?

(2) Substantive outcome to be explained (DV)

(2) Provide a provisional definition of your outcome (e.g. if you are looking to explain why some educational access movements succeed and others fail, try to define what you mean by an educational access movement; how would you know one from some other type of movement or some other type of educational access effort?)

(2) Level of analysis

(3) Unit of analysis

(4) What are the scope conditions for your outcome (e.g. only educational access movements in the Americas during the 20th Century) and why?

(5) What conceptual or practical problem will your research address?

(6) "So what?" Why does addressing this conceptual or practical problem matter?

(7) What is a possible IV that would be of focus for your project? Level of analysis; unit of analysis

(8) Provisional definition of your IV

(9) Why do you think your IV may have a causal relationship to your outcome of interest?
