Discuss how you would apply the contingency theories as they relate to the healthcare work environment. How would you use these to assess the appropriate style of leadership and the implications for employee motivation, satisfaction, and productivity?

(contingency theoryThese theories posit that successful leaders must be able to predict how, when, where, and why things happen. Prediction allows the leader to enhance the opportunities and diminish the threats that constantly surface in healthcare settings. A definition of contingency is an event that may occur, but is not likely or intended to occur, or a possibility for which one must be prepared. As such, preparing for contingencies is about possessing the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to respond to a changing situation (Borkowski, 2016).
