Question Description

Students will be responsible for answering weekly discussion questions posted under the Discussion Board on Blackboard. The initial posting to each question is due no later than 11:59 pm on Thursday and responses to a classmates’ posting no later than 11:59 pm on Sunday night.

To achieve the Week Six learning objectives, students will demonstrate their learning from Chapters Eleven and Twelve from their textbook and from additional unassigned reading by answering the following questions:

1. Using your own examples, identify how resources and capabilities affect competitive dynamics in a firm, stressing one view (institution-based or resource-based), and its implications on managing global competitive advantage.

2. Forming an alliance is a way to manage global competitive dynamics should you determine that cooperation is the best option. Discuss one of the two options at stage II (contract or equity) and give an example of stage III, specifying the relationship, applied to your example.
