Question Description

Unit: Federalism in a Constitutional System

This week's topic is the Coronavirus Vaccine. You have two choices:

Choice 1: Create your own topic! Start a conversation about the topic (coronavirus vaccine) that engages your fellow group members on the matter. Ask questions, share videos, talk about articles you find interesting. Remember the unit is federalism, so please make sure your topic questions the relationship between federal and state as well as state and local governments and their rollout of the vaccine. ENGAGE! Example: The federal government should issue a nationwide mask mandate (include video and research to support your argument and ask classmates to weigh in).

Choice 2: As coronavirus cases continue to rise and the vaccine rollout is slow, I want you to investigate and comment on how you believe the federal, state and local governments should handle the coronavirus vaccine and pandemic. Address whether there should be another federal aid package (and what should it include); how should federal dollars be allocated (unemployment payments, public eduction, election preparation, etc.)? Do you think the federal government should have a national plan for vaccinations or should this be a state by state issue? A local issue? Finally, conclude with how and where you can obtain the vaccine in your area today. Who qualifies? Where can you sign up? Do not assume your group knows what you are talking about. Provide enough detail to educate your group. Be sure to provide videos, articles and/or other material that you find interesting and informative.

Have some fun!!

Remember: post early and often!! First post (worth up to 15 points) should be no less than 500 words and include citations in CMS. Second posts (minimum of two responses to different classmates worth up to 10 points) should be no less than 250 words and further the discussion.
