Elevator Speech
Elevator SpeechThroughout this course, one of the main goals has been a focus on the importance of effective communication and collaboration with the families of infants and pre-school aged children. Throughout your career, you will need to utilize effective communication skills with colleagues, families, and children. As a professional, you will also need to communicate your beliefs to potential employers. An elevator speech is an excellent way to convey your skills while networking and seeking employment. Typically, an elevator speech is a one-minute summary of who you are, why you are qualified, and what you have to offer the organization or industry. A brief sales pitch will ensure that you are prepared to discuss your career goals whenever the opportunity presents itself. Some examples of where you could use your elevator speech are at a networking event, during a job interview, at a back-to-school parent meeting, or in a social setting. Watch The Elevator Pitch (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. video and design a one-minute sales pitch that is tailored toward your chosen career path. It is recommended that you utilize one of the following voice recording options to hear your elevator speech and share it with your classmates. PowerPoint

Southern New Hampshire University Fake News Discussion
When we hear the phrase "fake news" we often think of politicians and the media. However, businesses also perpetuate fake news, often unwittingly. LeanSpa, an internet retail business that sold purported weight loss products under various brand names, hired LeadClick to provide online advertising through its affiliate network. Toward that end, certain LeadClick affiliates used fake news sites to market LeanSpa products. These fake news sites looked like genuine news sites in that they had logos styled to look like news sites, and they included pictures of supposed reporters next to their articles. The articles generally represented that a reporter had performed independent tests that demonstrated the efficacy of the weight loss products. The websites also frequently included a Consumer Comment section, where purported consumers praised the products. There were no consumers commenting, however, since this content was invented. See this module's assigned textbook reading for a synopsis of the LeadClick case.
Based on this case, the module resources, and your own experience, answer these questions:
Who has or should have primary responsibility for managing fake news and its consequences (i.e., social media companies, advertising companies, business, everyday citizens, government authorities, or others)? Why?
Is it unethical for a company to allow its ads to run on a controversial website—such as one that is promoting untested scientific data or one that includes what is commonly accepted as hate speech—even if doing so generates significant revenue for the company? Explain your position.

Florida National University Fundamentals of Oral Communications Questions
I would like you to briefly answer the 19 questions based on the following speech. If you want, you can leave the questions that are from the book blank. Short and concise answers, thanks!Animal testing is okay Animals have long been used in the US and elsewhere in the world for commercial and research purposes. They are often used to test the safety of products before they are released for human consumption. Similarly, they are used for biomedical and health studies, in particular to seek information on the functioning of the human body and disease. While animal testing facilitates the development of numerous life-saving health interventions for both humans and animals, it has been criticized for being cruel when other, more viable methods exist that can replace the practice. The use of animals in testing fuels the development of important life-saving treatments and vaccines in humans. Animal experimentation is one of the main contributors in the advancement of treatments for life-threatening diseases, such as brain injuries, different types of cancer, tuberculosis, brain injuries, among others. Additionally, animal testing provides evidence on whether vaccines are safe for humans before they can be released for use. Animals are not used for research without justifiable reasons and most countries have asked researchers to show a very clear reason why the animals should be involved. In addition, the animals used during the research are treated with great care to ensure that they do not suffer. There are rules and regulations put in place by governments to ensure that any study involving animals is fully evaluated and scrutinized to determine if any harm will occur to the subjects. In other cases, if possible, pain relievers and anesthetics are used to reduce the amount of pain felt, such as would be the case if animals were brought in for a vet visit. Ultimately, the use of animals in research is a fundamental part of the science that has long supported the development of medical interventions at different phases of human existence. Stopping its use would affect the world's most vulnerable groups; patients who need a cure. Regardless, animal testing is criticized as unethical, causing unnecessary pain and suffering to subjects, while there are other viable methods that can be used. However, the animals used are treated with the utmost care with the process guided by regulations and legislation. Therefore, animal testing is a crucial part of human existence as it fosters development in the biomedical and healthcare sectors.
