The essay explicitly presents as reporting on some research about some features of the sex industry. None of it seems in any obvious way on point of the issue raised by the writing assignment question i.e. whether the the apparent free choices of participants in the sex industry might somehow be invalidated and seen as coercion. Just to take an obvious example – whether or not some range of porn stars say they are bisexual certainly bears not in any way on the question of whether their consent to participate in a pornographic movie is in fact coerced.
