College Biology Random Sampling

timer Asked: Apr 24th, 2015

Question description

Think of an area in your local community where there are plants, insects, fish, animals, etc. It might be a local state park or it might even be your own backyard. Think of a population or an attribute that you would like to estimate. It doesn't have to be exotic. For example, you might want to estimate the population of dandelions in your backyard or the population of a fish species in a local stream.

Devise a hypothesis about the size of this population. Then carefully consider your experimental design. Take some time to write out a sampling strategy based on what you learned last unit.
