Running Head: INFORMATIVE ABSTRACT

Identify the need(s) or issue(s) that prompted the report
Family planning has become important aspect in the society owing to an increase in number of
street children which has a great health problem in the society. These children are left on their
own to survive probably due to untold poverty and large families which the family cannot
support. These children live in deplorable conditions which pose a great health concern to the
public and the whole nation together. The issue of family planning comes in to solve the problem
from getting to the extreme ends by minimizing the number of children one can have.
Secondly, each and everyone in the society is hoping to live a better life where he or she can
obtain the necessary basic needs .This will ensure that the health related problem of malnutrition
such as kwashiorkor are eliminated. Through having children that one can manage, we reduce
this disease by almost 100 percent because each and every one is assured of better nutrition due
to manageable that have been adopted.
Moreover, due to hardship that crop in as a result of population explosion, many young people
who are unemployed with families get up engaging in criminal activities such as theft to earn a
living for their children. Some are polygamous yet they are jobless and this places the country
into a ditch of insecurity where citizens can lose their properties and even lives during attack.
Taking initiave to hold mass awareness for all people to have manageable family help to reduce
this atrocity in the society.
For a country to develop, more resources must be secured for the development. Large families
composed of children have more consumers than development. The little money one gets are all
channeled towards food leaving sectors such as education and health with no money hence
hinders development.

Describe the research methods used
Research methods refer to the behavior and instruments used in selecting and constructing
research techniques
Structured or close-ended questions.
These refer to questions which are accompanied by a list of all possible alternatives from which
respondents select the answer that best describes their situation.
Contingency questions
In some instances, certain questions are applicable to certain groups of respondents. In such
cases, follow-up questions are needed to get further information from the relevant sub-group
only.
Interview .
It is the oral administration of questionnaire or an interview schedule.
Interviews are therefore face-to-face encounters. To obtain accurate information through
interviews, a researcher needs to obtain maximum co-operation from respondents and must
establish a friendly relationship with the respondent prior to conducting the interview
Interview schedule
Is a set of questions that the interviewer asks when interviewing. This makes it possible to
obtain data required to meet specific objectives of the study.

Interview schedules are also used to standardize the interview situation so that interviewers can
ask the same questions in the same manner.
Observational forms
A researcher utilizes an observation checklist to record what he or she observes during data
collection. First, the researcher must define the behaviors to be observed and then develop a
detailed list of behaviors. During data collection, the researcher checks off each as it occurs. This
permits the observer to spend time thinking about what is occurring than on how to record it and
this enhances accuracy of the study.
Review the main facts and findings (data gathered from the LP5 questionnaire)
Attitude of men towards family planning practices. Example; the use of contraception among
women.
Health seeking behavior among men concerning use of contraception among women.
Views of men about the size of family one should have.
Why men have large family as opposed to small families.
Condense the conclusions and recommendations
To conclude lack of family planning has resulted into large families in the country. Comparing
the pros and cons associated with this type of family, we realize from the above discussion that
disadvantages such as poor health care, underdevelopment and crimes supersede. Hence people
should practice family planning to ensure that people have manageable families. Through public

awareness and maternal child health clinics, the companion especially men should be taught the
importance of family planning. Moreover, laws should be enacted to prevent people from having
large families which they cannot support.
