Description
Assignment: Your Turn Now that you have been practicing looking for poetic devices and translating poetry into prose and vice versa, it’s time to create your own poem. Your poem doesn’t have to rhyme or be a specific length. Your poem doesn’t have to be about anything specific, but it should try to explain something—a feeling, an event, or something that happened. If you feel comfortable, you can try to use one or two of the poetic devices, but it’s not required. In this section you studied various aspects of writing poems. Learning about poetic devices will help you with the next section, “Writing a Business Letter.” While this is different than writing a poem, the concepts you learned here will help you write a more effective business letter. |
