What is Research?
The title of my project paper is “Information Elements in the Introduction Section of Journal Articles in Environmental Science. I have chosen six journals to base my research study on. These three articles of my choosing are related to my major which is Environmental Health. The importance of doing research in Environmental Science assists me to know about more about the field of Environmental for my future. Nevertheless, reading all the 6 journals, each has different subfield helps me to understand further in Environmental Science.

Waste disposal and landfill: Information needs
Waste can be loosely defined as any material that is considered to be of no further use to the owner and is, hence, discarded. However, most discarded waste can be reused or recycled, one of the principles of most waste management philosophies. What may be of no further use to one person and regarded as waste to be dumped, may be of use to the next person, and is the basis of the rag picking trade, the sifting through of refuse at landfills for recovery and resale

JFKU Coefficient of Static Friction Physics Problems
Measure the coefficient of static friction between an object of your choosing and a flat surface such as a desktop, table, or wooden board. You'll need to know the mass of the object and to apply a known force parallel to the surface. One way to apply a force is by using a rope (run the rope horizontally over to a pulley and then hang a known mass off the edge of the table at the other end of the rope). Another way would be to incline the surface and use the parallel component of the object's weight to overcome the frictional force. Other techniques for applying and measuring forces are of course possible.Either way, measure the minimum force needed to start the object moving and compare this to the normal force to get the coefficient of friction. As with all experiments, pay close attention to uncertainties. Measure as carefully as possible and discuss how you arranged the apparatus to minimize experimental uncertainty.
