During a barley harvest a truck caught on fire in the field. Although it was a calm and windless day, the fire began to spread in a circular pattern originating at the truck at a rate of 6 feet per minute. Given the following information, calculate the potential loss (in dollars) per minute of time the fire remains burning (for this example, we’ll assume that the fire can spread and will continue to consume un- harvested barley).

Bushels per acres: 98 (based on Wyoming estimates for 2010)
Bushels per metric ton: 46
Cost per metric ton: $191 (based on 2010 Market Average prices from the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture)
