Writing Process Essay
From Professor---------------------------------------------Essay InstructionsI've posted to the prompt for the final essay right below this announcement. Please complete it to the best of your ability.Try not to work on this writing assignment for any longer. And two to three pages is long enough for the assignment.--------------------------------------------One of the most important parts of becoming a successful writer is understanding your own writing process. Each of us writes differently, and each of us needs certain things in order to succeed in a writing assignment. Even though many of you are now almost finished with your English requirement for college, you will be writing for the rest of your life; thus understanding your process is an important part of your continued success as a writer.THE ASSIGNMENTPlease write a two to three-page essay analyzing your own writing process. In order to understand how to apply the writing process successfully, you will first need to define what good writing is. What, for you, is good writing? You should, where applicable, incorporate examples from past papers this semester. How do you go about writing a successful paper? What role does the prompt play in helping you to address your paper? Think about some of your other courses. How does the instructor play a role in how you choose to approach a paper? Which parts of your writing process to you enjoy? Which do you loathe? Is there anything that really helps your process? Is there anything that can really become a roadblock to you? How does revision figure into your process? Do you work well with deadlines? What else have you realized about your writing process? In what ways do you feel you still need to improve? You could also think of this essay as a way of reflecting on what you’ve learned in this class. Please be sure that your essay is organized; you may want to have a single thesis statement, or you may want to emphasize several key points. Remember, your grammar and syntax will still be a part of my overall evaluation of this essay.-----------------------------------------------------------END OF ASSIGNMENT - Thank You--------------------------------------------------------------

Please note that the readings are in the textbook and also posted in this week's module:Cicero, On Duty. What do you feel people owe society, if anything? Justify your position from personal and/or public experience.Pliny the Younger, Letters. This will require a bit of research. First, write a paragraph summarizing the event that Pliny the Younger describes. Be sure to tell us what happened to Pliny the Elder and also to the neighboring city of Herculaneum. Feel free to imagine the experience of surviving a natural disaster -- think Mt. Saint Helens, Hurricane Katrina, or our recent wildfires and floods! Then pick one of the many discoveries from Pompeii, providing a link and/or image. This might be a building, a sculpture, or a fresco. Using our 3-step art criticism rubric (formal/social/symbolic context), describe it, telling us its history and associations, and why you chose it. To comment on some else's post, explain why you agree/disagree with their choice and refer them to a similarly intriguing artwork (not necessarily from Pompeii).
