De Paul University Statistics Weigt Loss Research Question
he weight loss researcher from last week's assignment did his best to create a sample with roughly half men and women. However, he is aware that most weight loss programs have approximately 80% women participants and 20% men participants. Run two chi-squares to help the researcher determine whethera) his sample is evenly split by gender andb) whether the sample reflects the typical 80/20 gender split.Use WeightLossPrograms.savFor each chi-square analysis and report:The value of chi-square and the degrees of freedom (df). The significance level (p-value) for the chi-square.Your conclusions. A sentence or two will suffice.

Discussion post reply, reply to bold. 200 words
Initial postA research firm tracks the average highway speed of 30 drivers driving home on Day 1. For the next 10 days, the drivers are given two cups of coffee 1 hour before the drive home. On the 10th day, the average highway speed is measured again. Does this study involve dependent or independent samples? You are interested in knowing if there is a statistical difference in driving speeds between Day 1 and Day 10. Which statistical test would be appropriate? Why?ReplyAfter reviewing the details in this case an example of dependant sample because of the variables that were brought. The initial measurement took a sample data of 30 drivers driving on the highway to measure the average speed was one variable, but later the data was taken from drivers that were given coffee. One type of dependent sample is characterized by a measurement followed by an intervention of some kind and the another measurement (Lind,D.A., Marchal, W.D., Whaten, S.A. 2015). According to Lind,D.A., Marchal, W.D., Whaten, S.A. (2015) this could be called a “before” and “after” study. This is the research I used to conclude that this case was an example of a dependant sample. The type of t-test I would use in this situation is the comparing dependent and independent samples.
