So my question says for every $70 dollars Susan saves Jane saves $21. Then it asks if Susan saves a total of $90 how much would Jane have? If Jane saves a total of $252 how much would Susan save?
Explanation & Answer
For $70 saving of susan jane saving is $21
hence 70 :90 :: 21:x
solving 70x = 90*21
x = 90*21/70 =27
hence for $90 saving of Susan , Jane will be saving $27 (Answer)
(2)
if Jane saved $252 then let y is saving of Susan
70 : y::21:252
solving we get, 21y = 252*70
or, y = 252*70/21 = $ 840.
Answer : Susan Saving $840
