Northern Star Online Bivariate Data Finding Best Fit Lines Problems Response
Please complete entire assignment. Show work when applicable. Finding Best-Fit Lines - Flashlight Exercise 1. Plot your data in your calculator & make it appear on the screen 2. STAT--> CALC--> #4 LinReg(ax+b) Y1 3.Write down the equation for your best-fit line (y = mx + b) 4. Use your graph to answer questions. BACKGROUND: A local flashlight maker has hired you to do some research regarding their latest flashlight. The company hiring you has already fired one consultant firm due to their inaccuracies. After researching past mistakes, you realize that it is very important to take accurate measurements, follow directions, and hold the flashlight perpendicular to the table when taking measurements.Good Luck! GATHERING DATA: You are to gather 6 data points that compare the distance from the table to the width (diameter)
of the circular light ring that the flashlight gives off. Make each measurement accurately to the
nearest 0.1cm and record your data below (as decimals, in centimeters). The flashlight should never be more than 8cm
away from the table. HEIGHT: ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______WIDTH: ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ Plotting your Data and Analyzing a pattern: 1. Accurately plot each of your data points onto a graph2. Plot the points on your calculator and use the appropriate ZOOM feature to make your data visible.3. Use the STAT--> CALC--> LinReg(ax+b) process to find the equation for your best-fit line.4. What is the equation for your best fit line? (do not round) ____________________________________5. You should know that the ‘x’ in your equation represents the height the flashlight is from the table and that the ‘y’ in your equation represents the width of the circular light on the table.6. Use your best-fit line equation to predict the width of the circular light region if you held the flashlight 25cm from the table. Show how you find your prediction.7. Use your best-fit line to predict how far away a flashlight is from a table if the width of the ring is 30cm. Show how you find your prediction.Hint: The graph shows "distance" horizontally across the bottom of the graph (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7). The graph shows "width" vertically up the right side of the graph (2, 4, 6, 8,10,12,14). You may change the scale on the y-axis if you need, just be sure to re-label the axis if you do!Best-Fit Equation: ________________________ •
Sketch the
best-fit line on a graph like described above. •
What is the
slope of the best-fit line? Slope = _______________________________ •
What does
that slope tell you about the flashlight?
__________________________ _____________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________ •
What is the
y-intercept of the best-fit line?
y-intercept = _____________________ •
What does
the y-intercept tell you about the flashlight? ______________________

RSCH 8210 Walden Wk 7 Introduction to Quantitative Analysis ANOVA Research Paper
Assignment: Introduction to Quantitative Analysis: ANOVA To prepare for this Assignment: Review this week’s Learning Resources and media program related to one-way ANOVA testing. Using the SPSS software, open the Afrobarometer dataset or the High School Longitudinal Study dataset (whichever you choose) found in the Learning Resources for this week. Based on the dataset you chose, construct a research question that can be answered with a one-way ANOVA. Once you perform your one-way ANOVA analysis, review Chapter 11 of the Wagner text to understand how to copy and paste your output into your Word document. For this Assignment: Write a 2- to 3-paragraph analysis of your one-way ANOVA results for your research question. Do not forget to evaluate if the assumptions of the test are met. Include any post-hoc tests with an analysis of the strength of any relationship found (effect size). Also, in your analysis, display the data for the output. Based on your results, provide an explanation of what the implications of social change might be. Layout for the assignment First Please add an introduction to your paper before you begin it with tables. This will help organization of your content. Second Identify the dataset Identify the variables Third State the research question Fourth Please evaluate if the assumptions of the test are met. Here is a list of them Seehttps://statistics.laerd.com/statistical-guides/one-way-anova-statistical-guide-2.php Fifth Please evaluate Post-hoc tests with an analysis of the strength of any relationship found (effect size). Sixth Display the data analysis in the output tables with a title and table number that you can reference in the narrative above Seventh Provide an explanation of what the implications of social change might be. 50 Years: Evolving to meet the moment.(2020), (volume 15, Number 2), 41.
