Essay Topic : Research on the Impacts of the Second Wave of Feminism
1. Tentative Answer Provided: You must state a question in order to give no answer. It's that simple. Offer a tentative answer based on your research, so far (your best guess). Your answer need not solve a riddle, if there is no answer tell me why, or several answers may exist; the important issue is that you learn to take a stand in a careful manner, and learn to write down your ideas mindfully.
2. Summarize : Summarize the content of your research, sorted by importance (summarize the most important first, and the least important last).

Module 10 Jacoby and Brownmiller Debate on Pornography Paper
10.5 MLA Citation and Attribution10.8 Essay #2For this essay, you will have a choice of three topics. In all three, your task is to back up or discredit a primary source with research from secondary sources.Topic A: Continue your analysis of Jacoby and Brownmiller's debate regarding the harmfulness of pornographic material to women and whether its wide-spread distribution contributes to sexually aggressive behavior. We're now seeing a reaction to sexual aggression in the #MeToo movement regardless of gender.**Note: This is NOT a paper about pornography. I am NOT asking you to go and Google search "porn," which would yield undesirable results. This is a Rhetorical Analysis of two specific article about the affects of legalized pornography on society. NO ONE is being asked to for forced to watch inappropriate materials, which would be a violation of Title IX.**Topic B: Any police officer and lawyer will tell you that the most unreliable testimony is eye-witness testimony. According to an article in the New York Times from April 2018, "Thirty-one percent of Americans, and 41 percent of millennials, believe that two million or fewer Jews were killed in the Holocaust; the actual number is around six million. Forty-one percent of Americans, and 66 percent of millennials, cannot say what Auschwitz was." Read the passage from Night by Elie Weisel provided, and then research the testimony and stories of other Holocaust survivors. Topic C: In "The Valley of the Gun," Bageant claims that gun culture is inherently connected to the culture of American who came here in the late 1700's and throughout the 1800's when the United States was still largely a wilderness, which is different that the generations who came to the country after industrialization that took place in the early 1900's. Research the gun debate on-going in this country regarding their protection versus their harm to the public.ThesisUnderstand that in this essay, YOUR OPINION DOES NOT COUNT, and should be left out of this process. It is the opinion of your research that counts, so approach your topic with an open mind and let your research be the judge.Topic A: According to your research, is Brownmiller credible in claiming that pornography contributes to sexual aggression, and thus represents an obscene public health crisis that is in need of restriction or even a ban, or is Jacoby credible in claiming that pornographic material is Free-Speech, and thus is protected by the 1st Amendment as an art form regardless of how tasteless one might consider it? What is the most important reason your sources use to justify their position?Topic B: According to your research, are there similarities between their narratives, what are they, and is there enough evidence to prove to people that the Holocaust was a real event despite the fact that these are eye-witness accounts? Are there enough similarities in the testimony of survivors to disprove Holocaust deniers? What similarity is most important in justifying your conclusion?Topic C: According to your research, given the rash of "soft target" shootings from Columbine through Parkland, including Aurora, Sandyhook, Ft. Hood, San Bernadino, Virginia Tech, etc., etc., is Bageant credible in claiming that guns are a cultural tradition at the heart of American culture, or do guns need to be restricted or even banned, thus requiring a change to or the abolition of the 2nd Amendment? What is the most important reason your sources use to justify their position?SourcesYou may choose one source I provideTopic A: Jacoby and Brownmiller will count as a single source.Topic B: WeiselTopic C: Bageant (Textbook)You must include at least 3 other print sources. These must have original page numbers from their original publication. You will need at least one Book and at least one Academic Article.Books and E-books must be obtain through the SAC LibraryAll Academic Journal articles must be obtained through the SAC Library; articles found on EBSCOhost will count as print sources if an only if they are in PDF form.NO other websites, dictionaries, or encyclopedias are permitted.NO sources obtained through Google and Wikipedia.LengthThe essay should be no longer than 5-8 pages. Your Works Cited page does NOT count in the page count. Your essay must be a minimum of 5 Full pages.
