What is differential treatment? Why are some cases and some defendants treated differently than others? Do you feel that some cases deserve differential treatment? Why or why not? Why are some defendants wrongfully convicted? What methods might be used to avoid wrongful convictions and exonerate those who have been wrongfully convicted? 

This discussion addresses outcomes of modules 1 and 2. You have read a great deal about ethical theories and principles, and now you are in a position to apply these to your understanding of the relationship among ethics, force and security. Use and cite as many of the module readings and other learning materials as possible to address?the prompt?below. Please respond to the following questions in your Initial Post: What differences do you see between the ethical standards that ought to apply to matters of state national security compared to the ethical standards for other conduct such as in personal or organizational relations? If you were to argue for the ethical legitimacy of the use of force by the United States, how would you do so? Would it be based more upon an ethic of intention or responsibility, and why? In your personal experience or understanding, does the United States use force justly at home and abroad? Elaborate in your answer with any domestic or foreign examples you deem relevant.
