Columbia State University Sun Coast Literature Review Research Paper
or the Unit I assignment, you will use what you learned about research methodologies, primary and secondary sources, and reviewing literature to develop a literature review. This literature review will become part of the final course project due in Unit VII. Please access and utilize the template for this assignment.Review articles in the CSU Online Library databases and other credible resources to locate six peer-reviewed, scholarly articles that relate to the Sun Coast business problems identified in the Course Project Guidance document. The articles you use should help inform your knowledge about the issues you are trying to solve for Sun Coast. The articles should also be quantitative research articles from primary and secondary sources. Try including words like correlation, regression, t test, and ANOVA in your keyword search criteria. The article discussion should include the qualifications of the authors, purpose of the studies, research methodologies and designs used, results from the studies, and explanations of how the articles relate to Sun Coast’s problem. Ensure that you also describe how you believe the research made a positive organizational impact. The title and reference pages do not count toward the page requirement for this assignment. This assignment should be a minimum of two pages in length, follow APA-style formatting and guidelines, and use references and citations as necessary.Refer to the Course Project Guidance document for insight. For assistance in creating your literature review, reach out to the Writing Center.Sun Coast Remediation Course Project GuidanceundefinedBackgroundundefinedundefinedTo help make a connection between business research and its use in the real world, this course will use an iterative course project. Throughout the term, you will serve as the health and safety director for Sun Coast Remediation (Sun Coast). undefinedSun Coast provides remediation services to business and governmental organizations. Most of their contracts involve working within contamination sites where they remove toxic substances from soil and water. In addition to the toxicity of the air, water, and soil their employees come into contact with, the work environment is physically demanding and potentially contributory to injuries involving musculoskeletal systems, vision, and hearing. Sun Coast genuinely cares about the health, safety, and well-being of their 5,500 employees, but they are also concerned about worker compensation costs and potential long-term litigation from injuries and illness related to employment. undefinedHealth and Safety Director TaskundefinedundefinedSun Coast hired you last month to replace the previous health and safety director, who left to pursue other opportunities. This is a critical position within the company because there are many health and safety-related issues due to the nature of the work. The former health and safety director was in the midst of analyzing these issues through the implementation of a research project when she left the organization. undefinedThroughout the term, you will use your knowledge of research methods to bring the research project to fruition. You will conduct a literature review, develop research questions and hypotheses, create the research design, test data, interpret data, and present the findings. Each unit will accomplish one of these tasks. It has already been decided that the business problems will be best addressed using a quantitative research methodology. You will not collect any data for this project. The former health and safety director had already collected the data, which is provided for you in an Excel spreadsheet.Six business problems were identified:undefinedParticulate Matter (PM)undefinedThere is a concern that job-site particle pollution is adversely impacting employee health. Although respirators are required in certain environments, PM varies in size depending on the project and job site. PM that is between 10 and 2.5 microns can float in the air for minutes to hours (e.g., asbestos, mold spores, pollen, cement dust, fly ash), while PM that is less than 2.5 microns can float in the air for hours to weeks (e.g. bacteria, viruses, oil smoke, smog, soot). Due to the smaller size of PM that is less than 2.5 microns, it is potentially more harmful than PM that is between 10 and 2.5 since the conditions are more suitable for inhalation. PM that is less than 2.5 is also able to be inhaled into the deeper regions of the lungs, potentially causing more deleterious health effects. It would be helpful to understand if there is a relationship between PM size and employee health. PM air quality data have been collected from 103 job sites, which is recorded in microns. Data are also available for average annual sick days per employee per job-site. undefinedSafety Training EffectivenessundefinedHealth and safety training is conducted for each new contract that is awarded to Sun Coast. Data for training expenditures and lost-time hours were collected from 223 contracts. It would be valuable to know if training has been successful in reducing lost-time hours and, if so, how to predict lost-time hours from training expenditures.undefinedSound-Level Exposure undefinedSun Coast’s contracts generally involve work in noisy environments due to a variety of heavy equipment being used for both remediation and the clients’ ongoing operations on the job sites. Standard ear-plugs are adequate to protect employee hearing if the decibel levels are less than 120 decibels (dB). For environments with noise levels exceeding 120 dB, more advanced and expensive hearing protection is required, such as earmuffs. Historical data have been collected from 1,503 contracts for several variables that are believed to contribute to excessive dB levels. It would be important if these data could be used to predict the dB levels of work environments before placing employees on-site for future contracts. This would help the safety department plan for procurement of appropriate ear protection for employees. undefinedNew Employee TrainingundefinedAll new Sun Coast employees participate in general health and safety training. The training program was revamped and implemented six months ago. Upon completion of the training programs, the employees are tested on their knowledge. Test data are available for two groups: Group A employees who participated in the prior training program and Group B employees who participated in the revised training program. It is necessary to know if the revised training program is more effective than the prior training program. undefinedLead ExposureundefinedEmployees working on job sites to remediate lead must be monitored. Lead levels in blood are measured as micrograms of lead per deciliter of blood (μg/dL). A baseline blood test is taken pre-exposure and postexposure at the conclusion of the remediation. Data are available for 49 employees who recently concluded a 2-year lead remediation project. It is necessary to determine if blood lead levels have increased. undefinedReturn on InvestmentundefinedSun Coast offers four lines of service to their customers, including air monitoring, soil remediation, water reclamation, and health and safety training. Sun Coast would like to know if each line of service offers the same return on investment. Return on investment data are available for air monitoring, soil remediation, water reclamation, and health and safety training projects. If return on investment is not the same for all lines of service, it would be helpful to know where differences exist.

Developing Your Professional Identity
Overview
Because few undergraduate programs offer courses in counseling, one of the areas in which new counselors struggle is that of developing a professional identity. This course has provided the basic ideas and practice exercises that you need to begin developing your own professional identify. The purpose of this assignment is to provide you with the opportunity to describe the role and function you envision for yourself as a counselor, to distinguish yourself from other helping professions, and to explain how you will find the resources to assist you in continuing to develop your capabilities. Take advantage of this opportunity to think through where you are headed, both in your program and in your career.
While you are expected to support your ideas with evidence from the professional literature, it is understood that you are beginning a new professional journey, and there may be some areas in which research alone cannot determine your personal direction. Acknowledge any uncertainty in your personal direction and challenge yourself to express the reasons for that uncertainty.
Directions
Use the supplied assignment template and the other helpful links in Resources to write your paper. Organize your paper into the following topic areas:
Specialization within the field of counseling: State your specialization and explain how your role differs from counselors in other specializations. Take time to define, as specifically as possible, the areas in which you would like to focus your practice.
Counseling philosophy: As a counselor-in-training, describe how you integrate the concepts of wellness, resilience, and prevention into your approach in your identified specialization. Dig deeper, and explain the assumptions you are making that help you see a connection between counseling theory and your practice.
Licensing and certification: Describe what you have learned about state licensure and certification requirements for your specialization and explain how your coursework plan aligns with these requirements. Identify any areas in which you have found a state requirement that you are not certain will be met by your coursework, and describe how you will take action to resolve this uncertainty.
Ongoing professional development: Compare and contrast two professional counseling associations. Assess how these organizations can help you conceptualize your professional identity and assist you in continuing professional development. Be specific about your areas of interest, and provide examples of ways in which these associations can assist you.
Impact of technology: Evaluate how technology might affect your clinical specialization, including assisting you in creating more efficient formats to help your clients as well as raising ethical questions for you. As in other areas of the paper, provide specific examples.
Reflection on your interview and u02a1: Review the interview you conducted and your Preliminary Conceptualization of the Counseling Field assignment. How have your impressions of the field changed over the course? Explore specific concepts, terms, or areas of professional disposition that you have gained insight in.
In each case, support your ideas with evidence from professional literature, including the assigned articles and those you found related to professional identity, key philosophies, and technology within counseling. Include what you learned from your Internet research on state licensure or certification requirements.
Given the personal focus of this paper, it is appropriate to write in the first person (using the words I, me, and my, for example).

Discussion Board Forum #6 - Ch 4Chapter 4: Impression Management in ActionThis is to help make your own impression management visible - and to help you see how integral it is to your everyday life. As you observe the most minute aspects of your interactions, you will probably discover that you perform somewhat different versions of yourself in the two situations. “Doing student,” for instance, might be very different from “doing boyfriend/girlfriend.”Think about how you act and interact in a specific social situation (for example, at work, at a family birthday celebration, at lunch with friends, in your math class, riding on the bus or train, or watching a softball game), and how you present yourself in the setting.Answer the following questions. How are your facial expressions, body language, and so forth (“expressions given off”) presented in this situation? What kinds of things do you say (“expressions given”) in this situation? How do you modify what you do and say in this situation? Are there things you say or do in this situation that would be inappropriate, strange, or even absurd in the other situation?Does engaging in impression management mean that we have no basic, unchanging self? If we bring different selves to different situations, what does that say about the idea of a “true self”? This issue is an important one, and we hope you use your Data Workshop findings to pursue it in greater depth.Below is an interesting clip about impression management (from the Sociological Cinema, under Web Links). Very awkward situation in terms of impression management!http://www.thesociologicalcinema.com/videos/kanye-west-goes-off-script (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________-use your own word please and DO NOT COPY ANYTHING ON LINE! I will be turn in this home work in turn it in! Please Use easy grammar and must use your word to answer all these questions.-must be complete by complete sentences (at least Approximately 250-word POST or REPLY that appropriately addresses the topic. )around 6-7 sentences.-if you need books to answer the questions I will sensed to you.-use easy grammar and easy to understand! Please!!!!!———————————————————————Next, read and respond to at least two other students' posts.(for every respond 3-5 sentences1.When I put myself in a situation like work, I think it changes how I act. "Doing employee" would probably be the best description for this. During work hours I am much more rigid and stiff. I do not really slouch too much or slack off and stay focused. I really only have 2 facial expressions as well. It is either intently focused or happily smiling. Even if what is in my head is completely opposite of what is going on. I have to pay attention strictly the task at hand whether that be with a customer or with a document. My speech in this situation is very proper and tends to stay on terms of academic verbiage. People want confidence from the person they are talking to so you consistently have to stay on top of your diction. I would stay away from words like can't or won't. Unless they are specifically necessary. Also, when I speak, I stay away from absolutes. In other situations, like school and other academic activities this speech pattern is perfectly acceptable. However, when I am with my friends, it would be absolutely useless and strange. They would just look at me as if I were a robot and you can't really have too many friendly functions as a robot.I think the true self is definitely within each personality we bring to the table. Every single step that we take is affected by who we are. I can only present my self this way at work because I have it as a part of my personality. I truly believe that the true self concept is alive in each personality. As rigid and stiff as I become at work, that doesn't change my naturally gregarious character. Not to mention, I still spend time with friends and that speech pattern is a mix and match of colloquial terms and academic terms. Furthermore, a false personality created, such as the one I used when I began my job, slowly devolve back into your natural self and you begin to become comfortable with your true self. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________I will post the other person's respond when you get the work! and also I am looking for a long term tutor for 4weeks if you are interesting in it i am glad to let you be my tutor for 4weeks, and also every time when you finish the work when you put your time in I could see it and you will get tips!!!!
