Are the treaties made during League of Nations still in force?

timer Asked: Jun 26th, 2015

Question Description

So, I wanted to know that- What happened to the treaties which were deposited with League of Nations?

The wikipedia page of Treaty Series says that after the dissolution of League of Nations, the publication of League of Nations Treaty Series was terminated. Following the termination of that series, the registration of League of Nations treaties passed to the United Nations.

1) So, does that mean that the treaties which were entered into before creation of UN were also terminated? or are they still in force?

2) if two nations don't have any bilateral treaty between them after UN took the office but they had an ancient trade treaty between them, does that mean there is a treaty between those states and they are bound by its terms?

It would be great if you can impart some information on the above queries to me.
