Question description

hello my friend I have this question is due today but I did not get the book yet, but  in order to write this discussion I have to read the table in the book. It doesn't have minimum of words.

I send you the question and also an example from one of my classmates plz help me if you can

From Table 3.4 in your text, select two social change models and compare and contrast the similarities and differences between them.  Identify their social change tactic, and give examples of representative groups, coalitions, organizations, or entities that exemplify them.  Specify the components of successful progressive organizations.  Support your comments with references and respond to a minimum of two classmates’ postings.

this an example:

From Table 3.4 in your text, select two social change models and compare and contrast the similarities and differences between them.

I chose Neighborhood Group(NG) and Multiracial Community(MC). With NG the empowerment method is situationally contingent, meaning the leader can only lead based on the factors that create the situation. The focus is within the neighborhood and take a pragmatic approach to motivation. There is no preconfiguring with this this type of group giving everyone's voice or opinions the same consideration. This group is not likely to have anyone that is a professional activist among it's members. Their mobilization tactics would involve a lot of door to door reciting and word of mouth net working(Rubin, H. Rubin, I. 2008).

With the MC the empowerment method is direct action, civic and administrative engagement with a focus on building the organization. Their ideological motivation is to microempowerment and transformational meaning they want to empower the members so they are the ones that can effect the change. This organization has a structure that reflects the values that they are promoting. They have some lever of professional organizer and employ leadership development. Recruitment for the organization would be directed towards other organizations bringing in other persons that have the capability to help further the organization(Rubin, H. Rubin, I. 2008).

The major differences between the to would be how they are organized and how they recruit its members.

Identify their social change tactic, and give examples of representative groups, coalitions, organizations, or entities that exemplify them.

A home owners association(HOA) would be an example of a neighborhood group. While they may have a head or president of the group everyone has an equal voice in the decisions. The only members in the group would be those living within the predetermined boundaries of the neighborhood.

An example of a multiracial community power would be the YMCA. They work to make a difference in the community but rely of on the professional community to make up its board of directors.

Specify the components of successful progressive organizations.

An HOA works because it has a predetermined set of members and focuses on what is in the best interest of the neighborhood as hole. The neighborhood looking nice and clean and keeping property values high

the YMCA uses a board of directors to create an operating budget and to help design programs that will better the community they serve.
