Question Description

The APA lists specific competency benchmarks for
psychologists. On a developmental level, fundamental competencies include
reflective practice, self-assessment & self-care, and professionalism.
Which is most critical for new therapists and how can we measure their
competency? Be sure to support your choice. Why is it critical for all
therapists to remain cognizant of the benchmarks? Do you foresee a conflict
with any of the competencies on a personal or professional level? How would you
deal with such an issue. Must include APA formatted in text citations and references and
have at least 300 words

The ACA adapted a new Code of Ethics in July of 2005. The revision took
approximately 3 years to complete. Eight specific areas were impacted by the
revision including Standard B which relates to the counselor’s need to protect
the confidentiality of patients who are minors or who cannot give informed
consent. Discuss the specific implications of working with this population. How
can it impact the counseling relationship? Why is confidentiality such a
critical element in psychology. Must include APA formatted in text
citations and references and have at least 300 words
