Question description

The pituitary gland is a target tissue of the hypothalamus.  What might happen if the “lock and key” structures on the pituitary gland did not recognize the signals from the hypothalamus once it had begun to produce growth hormone?

What is the endocrine system made of?

Where are the chemicals secreted by the endocrine glands released into?

Explain why hormones spread throughout the body only act on certain tissues and not others.

The nervous and endocrine systems both regulate the body’s activities.  How does the body’s response to endocrine regulation differ from its response to nervous regulation?
