Description
Carissa and her friend Wanda are in line to buy tickets for a concert. While Wanda has been a huge fan of this band for years Carissa has only recently started listening to them. Carissa and Wanda are next in line at the window when they overhear that there is only one ticket left.
What do you believe Carissa would do if she was an ethical egoist? Why would she choose that course of action?
Explanation & Answer
Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!
The rough idea behind ethical egoism is that the right thing to do is to look out for your own self-interest. We are morally required only to make ourselves as happy as possible. in this case, carissa will not give wanda the opportunity considering she is a long time fan, but will consider her own interests too.
