Fusion is different from fission in that fission involves the nuclei of a heavy particle that is split into smaller particles and has chain reactions.  Fusion does NOT involve chain reactions or meltdowns or enrichment risks.  Fusion reactions release more energy than fission and have far less, and in some case no radiation
