Edwin Booth (1833-1893), Was an American actor, was the second son of Junius Brutus Booth, and was born in Belair, Maryland, in 1833.In 1868-1869 Edwin Booth built a theatre of his own--Booth's theatre in New York he organized an excellent stock company, which produced Romeo and Juliet, The Winter's Tale, Julius Caesar,Macbeth,Much Ado about nothing, The Merchant of Venice and other plays.
His
personality of American actor Edwin Booth was greater than his
achievement. By birth and heredity he possessed faculties and
qualities that most actors pass laborious lives in the fruitless
effort to emulate -- the faculties and qualities, namely, of
genius and personal charm, that constitute distinction and lead
directly to conquest.
Booth was twice married: in 1860 to Mary Devlin , and in 1869 to Mary F. McVicker.
