Velocity or Acceleration?

timer Asked: Aug 9th, 2015

Question Description

A train from rest is now travelling at the speed of 350km/hr, What is the time travelled if the train has reached 170km? What is the train acceleration as it travelled the 170km?

Besides from that question i tried using the velocity formula t=d/v and d=v*t having the result .48hr and 729.17km/hr2

then when i use the acceleration formula of a=((vf-vi)/2)t i got an answer t=.97hr and a= 360.82

which of the two should i use and why?
