Question Description
For this problem you need to determine the correct height of a flagpole large enough to support the Star Spangled Banner flag that flies over Fort. McHenry. This flag is 30 by 42 feet in size. (We know that the ratio of the height of a flagpole to the width of any flag is 1 to 4.) a. How tall will the flagpole need to be to support the Star Spangled Banner? b. You have a model of Ft. McHenry that you need to add a flagpole to that would be proportional to the real pole at the fort. The ratio of the model is 1 inch to 10 feet. c. You are given a model flagpole that is 8 inches tall; is this the correct size? If not, how tall does it need to be? d. You have a model flag that is 5 by 6.3 inches. Are the model flag and original flag similar figures? If not, what would the model flag dimensions need to be? What is the scale factor? e. What is the ratio of the perimeter of the model flag in comparison to the original flag? f. What is the ratio of the area of the model flag in comparison to the original flag? g. What is the relationship between the ratios of perimeter and area? |

Draft Report Review?
Deliverable length: 400-600 wordsReview draft report, and provide meaningful feedback. Refrain from generic feedback, such as simply stating "good job."Your feedback to other students will be most helpful if you not only point out weak areas but also offer suggestions for improvement. The best feedback takes a 3-stage approach to identify the following: What was done well, Weaknesses and Areas for improvementMy Rational behind updating the hubs to switches is that hubs are out dated and switches provide a direction connection line between the data being shared between the two items. I also recommended VLANs for the workgroups because of the many benefits I found, which include added security, breathing room on the network and easy handling for the network administrator. I also recommended updating the AS400 Mainframe to the IBM iSeries because it is what has replaced the AS400 but can still run legacy AS400 data. I look forward to your review as I am not entirely sure I am doing this right (YIKES).

Stock Market Research Project, writing homework help
The problem: You have just inherited $100,000 from your millionaire great-uncle. The
stipulation is that you must invest it in the stock market until you turn twenty-one. First, you
must familiarize yourself with the stock market and then decide what some good investments
might be.
Your assignment: You will complete this project in four separate parts.
Your findings for each part should include and address each of the proposed questions.
Part 1: Research: Learn the key terms and basic functionality of the stock market.
Research the stock market. What is a stock? What is a share? What is an exchange?
Identify the various exchanges where stocks can be traded and discuss their similarities
and differences (i.e. NYSE, NASDAQ). What types of companies are traded on each?
Research stock market performance indicators, such as the DOW Jones and S&P 500.
What do the indicators measure? How do they help predict the performance of the
market? What are their flaws?
Research the sectors of the market. Identify three companies in each sector.
Research companies in which you would invest. What characteristics do they have that
make them good prospects? In other words, why might you choose to invest in each one
of them?
Compile the answers to these questions in a research report consisting of four to five
well-developed paragraphs. This will be the first part of your Research Project.6. Make sure you give credit to the sources you use (MLA Citation Page)
Part 2: Invest: Choose 5–10 companies of your choice to invest your $100,000. Now apply
what you have learned about the stock market to the Stock Market Game; complete a six-week
stock market game simulation.
The following two websites
(http://www.howthemarketworks.com and http://www.WallStreetSurvivor.com) have
stock market simulation games and you will have the choice of which one you would like
to use. You will have to sign up for a free account in order to start this project. Make
sure you visit both sites and pick which one you would like to work with. When selecting
your game, you will have the option to join a class or play individually. Select play
individually.
Be sure to read the directions on how to play the game, and go to the help screen if you
ever have questions. Be sure to contact your teacher if you have any problems with the
website or the game.
While playing the game, be sure to stay active. You will want to check your stock’s
progress DAILY and follow the news to get information on your company.
Give a weekly report for as long as you play the game for your companies. For at least
four of your companies, write a weekly summary on the business, earnings statements,
or any news having an impact on your company's share prices. Create a table with a
report summary for each company for each week during the six-week period.(do not actually take 6 weeks- it's fake, so just pretend it was 6 weeks).
Include your reports and summaries in the second part of your Research Project.
Part 3: Draw Conclusions: After you complete the simulation, you will compile a report on
your achievements of the game.
Did you have overall positive or negative earnings (list the total portfolio amount)?
What was your most profitable stock? If you did not have any that made you money,
which company lost the least?
What company cost you the most money?
How many transactions did you make throughout the game, and what was the dollar
amount that the transactions cost you?
Did the transactions have positive or negative externalities on the outcome of your
game?
What was the economy’s overall performance during these weeks?
Write an overall analysis that discusses your stock investments as well as a general trend
you might have noticed in the stock market as a whole. Your analysis should be three to
four well-developed paragraphs. This will be the third part of your Research Project.
Make sure you give credit to the sources you use. (See information later in this section
for examples.)
THESE PARTS ARE COMBINED INTO ONE ASSIGNMENT
Part 4: Make Inferences: Discuss what you have learned from this activity.
Based on your findings, where do you think you might invest the money left to you by
your great-uncle?
Can you think of any other influences that might affect your decision on where to invest
your money?
Identify the things you learned about the economy by participating in this simulation.
Did you like playing the game, and would you recommend it to others?
Respond to these questions in three to four well-developed paragraphs. This will be the
fourth, and final part of your Research Project.

LASA 1: Cultural Autobiography
Cultural AutobiographyThe purpose of this assignment is to illustrate recognition of your own cultural background and how your worldview has been shaped by your family, role models and life experiences. This autobiography will help you express an appreciation for your own cultural identity and discover potential areas of development.Begin by defining individuals that you consider family members. This includes, for example, parents or guardians, siblings and/or grandparents. Important information about these individuals includes places of birth, travel (if any), age, spiritual/religious beliefs, occupation, educational history, ethnicity, birth order, etc. In this description include the cultural heritage each individual and summarize the belief system of your family in general, including specific family values, religious and cultural practices, ceremonies, beliefs, and holiday celebrations. If possible, interview these individuals in an effort to gain new insight into your cultural heritage.Next critically evaluate experiences in which you feel have had significant relevance in your multicultural development. Include both positive and negative experiences if applicable. After taking a look at these influencing factors, critically examine and discuss who you are as a cultural being, including your racial identity. Think about your own development, functioning, values, behaviors and worldview and how you feel your family history, chosen role models, and experiences have shaped you. Describe how your life would be different had these cultural influences not been there. Be sure to include a description of interpersonal expectations for yourself and lifestyle choices. Finally, having taken a close look at your cultural autobiography, include potential biases which may influence how you interact with others. This could include, for example, favoring individuals of your own heritage or unconscious biases towards a certain cultural group.Be sure to address each topic listed above and, as appropriate, cite the online course, the textbook, and other credible sources to substantiate the points you are making. For example, when discussing your racial identity please cite sources which you have referenced to better understand what this term means or use the text or lecture to substantiate points you are making about how gender has influenced your cultural development. This paper should be approximately 4-6 pages and is due on Wednesday, February 26, 2014.
