Question description

Refutation/the rebuttal argument:

At the end of Week 10, you're going to be turning in the complete persuasive paper, Assign 5. Assign 5 is a revision of Assign 4 plus adding the rebuttal argument. What is a rebuttal argument? To put it in simple terms, it's meeting the opposition. You're taking a stand/making a claim in a persuasive paper. A rebuttal or refutation is where you address any opposition that some might have to your stand. If you think that there is any validity in the opposition, you concede a little, or if you think it does not have any merit, you completely refute it. Eventually, you finish your paper by emphasizing your original stand.

Check out Andrew Sullivan's article, "Let Gays Marry' here. Regardless of whether you share his views on the subject, please see the power and the appeals in his argument/especially in how he addresses the opposition:

Please discuss Sullivan's argument.

Discuss the points of rebuttal.

Discuss how you plan to refute the opposition in your paper. ( I have attached my Assignment 5 paper)
