Capella University Statistics Power Analysis Discussion
Using G*Power and the information provided, answer the following:Problem 1:To what extent does age, race, and gender predict the annual salary of bank presidents?Conduct an a-priori analysis, a medium effect size, and alpha of .05 and a power of .80. What is the sample size you need to prevent a type II error? What is a type error, and how does an adequate sample prevent it? Show your work by providing your G*Power output.Problem 2:What is the difference in growth rate between publicly traded enterprises and privately held firms?Using a post hoc analysis with a sample size of 100, a medium effect size, and an alpha of .01, what is the power of your study? Explain what the power value means. Show your work by providing your G*Power output.Problem 3:What is the difference in self-efficacy, burnout, and workload among hospital, university, and manufacturing administrators?Conduct an a-priori analysis using a large effect size, an alpha of .05, and a power of .95. What is the total number of participants needed in your sample? How many participants do you need in each group? Why is it important to have an equal number of participants in each group? Show your work by providing your G*Power output.Write your answers in a single document.

Competency
Given a real-life application, develop a hypothesis test for a population parameter and its interpretation.
Instructions
Scenario (information repeated for deliverable 01, 03, and 04)
A major client of your company is interested in the salary distributions of jobs in the state of Minnesota that range from $30,000 to $200,000 per year. As a Business Analyst, your boss asks you to research and analyze the salary distributions. You are given a spreadsheet that contains the following information:
A listing of the jobs by title
The salary (in dollars) for each job
In prior engagements, you have already explained to your client about the basic statistics and discussed the importance of constructing confidence intervals for the population mean. Your client says that he remembers a little bit about hypothesis testing, but he is a little fuzzy. He asks you to give him the full explanation of all steps in a hypothesis testing and wants your conclusion about a claim that the average salary for all jobs in the state of Minnesota is less than $75,000.
Background information on the Data
The data set in the spreadsheet consists of 364 records that you will be analyzing from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The data set contains a listing of several jobs titles with yearly salaries ranging from approximately $30,000 to $200,000 for the state of Minnesota.

Inferential Statistics Article Critique
[WLOs: 3, 4, 5, 6] [CLOs: 1, 2, 3, 4]
Prior to beginning work on this assignment, review the assigned readings and the instructor guidance for the week, complete the learning activity, read the Ashford Writing Center resource Writing an Article Critique (Links to an external site.), view the Ashford University Library tutorial How to Read a Scholarly Article (Links to an external site.), and review the required video Test statistics: Crash Course statistics #26 (Links to an external site.). Your instructor will post an announcement with the reference for the article to be critiqued in this assignment. Read the article assigned by your instructor and identify the research questions and/or hypotheses as they are stated. Consider the following questions: What are the variables (sample sizes, population, treatments, etc.)? What are the inferential statistics used in this article? Were the proper steps of hypothesis testing followed?
Your article critique paper must
Determine what question(s) the authors are trying to answer by doing this research, the hypothesis being tested, and the concepts that were applied in this process.
Evaluate the article and critique the statistical analysis employed in the study.
Identify the specific statistical tests used. Were the tests appropriate for the situation and type of data?
Would you have included more and/or different variables? Explain your answer.
Examine the results, assumptions, interpretations, and limitations of the statistical study.
Interpret the findings of the author(s) using statistical concepts.
What would you have done differently? Why?
Discuss how either the statistical test(s) used in this study or the findings of this research might be useful in your future career.
The Inferential Statistics Article Critique assignment
