Description
I need help with my homework. The problem is 12x+17-26+3x ,Please help me
Explanation & Answer
Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!
For this problem, you will need to combine 'like' terms, so add the two numbers with 'x', and add the two numbers without x. Might be easier seeing them grouped together:
(12x + 3x) + (17-26) Now you add both of these.
15x - 9 From here, you can see that both terms have '3' in common, so factor out a '3'.
3(5x - 3)
Note: I'm not sure if this problem is supposed to be set to equal zero or not? If it is, then here's the rest of the problem:
3(5x -3) = 0 Divide each side by '3'.
5x-3=0
5x=3
x=3/5
Please let me know if you have any questions and I would be happy to clarify anything for you :)
