Discussion 1
Voter and Voter TurnoutPrepare: Prior to completing this discussion question, review Chapters 10, 11, and 12 in American Government, and review the Week 5 Instructor Guidance. Also, read the following articles: The Problem of Voter Fraud, Voter Identification Laws and the Suppression of Minority Votes, and Proof at the Polls (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.. Reflect: The United States has one of the lowest voter turnout rates among modern democratic political systems. During the last decade, many initiatives have been undertaken to increase voter participation, yet concerns about the possibility of election fraud have also increased. Additionally, some political interests feel threatened by the increase in turnout among some traditionally low-turnout ethnic minorities. Several states have recently passed legislation imposing new registration and identification requirements. This has sparked debate about whether these are tactics intended to suppress turnout or to prevent fraud. Think about the media’s role in the election process and how both mass media and social media can impact the election process. How has the media’s role changed in recent years, especially considering President Trump’s stance on “fake news”? Write: In your initial post,Describe voter ID laws in a state of your choosing. Summarize any recent developments or controversies regarding voter ID laws in the state you have chosen.Analyze and describe the pros and cons on both sides of the debate about these laws.Is voter fraud a major problem for our democracy, or are some groups trying to make it harder for some segments of society to vote?Analyze the impact that media (mass and social) has had in influencing public opinion, specifically regarding voter ID laws. How was the Trump/Clinton election in 2016 impacted by voter laws and the media? This web page provides an overview of some of the differences in Voter ID laws in the different states: Voting Laws & Requirements: Voting Methods and Options (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site..Your initial post must be at least 300 words. If you are citing statistics our outside resources, please list the website or the reference entry.

UMB The Pursuit of A Career as An Enterprise Manager Final Career Report
For this assignment you are to follow the template under the file Career Report Template, and use different headings that match up with what I have done for the proposal, you should be finding new images and be incorporating those images into examples that show my proposal for my enterprise training program. The File below is just an example of what I am looking for. The next file is the proposal which has everything from that, that you need to incorporate into a structure similar to the Career Report Template but with different headings, descriptions and pictures, if you have any questions do not be afraid to ask, you have a lot of time on this assignment too. The final product should follow something LIKE this but with a lot more detail, image examples and should have identical structure to the career report template and it should incorporate EVERYTHING from the proposal. Here is what the BASIC VERY GENERAL structure should look likeThe Before I work at EnterpriseHow do I prepare myselfAre there tests?? Week 9 Qualitative Research Workshop Assignment
Workshop: Qualitative Research Workshop: Week 9In this week’s Workshop, you will document your experience of moving from interview to data and compare your experiences of verbatim transcription and summary transcription. You will also conduct a peer debrief of your classmate’s interview while he or she debriefs yours.Qualitative data analysis begins with the onset of the data collection process. This means that your very first interview becomes the launch point for identifying codes (bits of data that have a particular meaning in the context of your research question), categories (groups of codes), and themes (groups of categories that share a specific meaning). The notes that you took during and after your interview will also provide cues and clues as to what the data will reveal about the phenomenon of interest. Remember to identify clearly your “notable” quotes.Consider that the intent of your interview was directed by your chosen approach. So, in your transcription and organization of your data, use the text-processing capabilities (formatting, styles, comments) to consistently indicate across data sources (your interviews, journal notes, audit trails) which question goes with which answer. Highlight the key elements that focus the approach you have chosen. The following are some examples:Type of ApproachWhat to HighlightPhenomenologicalWhat is seen/experienced (not interpreted)HermeneuticsUnits of meaning and intentionNarrativeTurning points of the storyEthnographyEnvironmental observations; stated meanings from interactions among culture membersTheory-drivenSensitizing concepts (identifying words and key phrases that epitomize the theoretical or conceptual framework)Grounded theoryOpen coding (identifying properties and “dimensions” of concepts)By Day 4Transcribe your first interview. Use a transcription service or do it yourself. For your second interview, use a summative technique (e.g., Halcomb & Davidson, 2006) of audio tape, interview notes, and journal notes to create a detailed summary.Provide your debriefing partner with the audio (if possible) and transcript of one interview.Write in your unique thread a statement in which you compare and contrast the two ways of turning interviews into data. Consider which approach gets you “closer” to the experience of the participant and which approach gets you “deeper” into seeing potential patterns and categories.
