Question description

The first eukaryotic cell did not appear until 2.5 billion years ago approximately.  We know this because of the fossil record.  How did those first eukaryotic cells get here?  What are your ideas concerning the evolution of the first eukaryotic cells?  Do not concern yourself with how life first formed, rather just concern yourself with how eukaryotic cells first evolved.  Please look at this from a scientific standpoint and not a religious point of view.
