Question description

2.4301x10^1 + 3.125x10^1 x 3.2x10^- 1 = 3.4x10^1

How is that possible I thought it would be 3.430x10^1 because in my intermediate answer for addition I got 55.551 but I am considering the least significant decimal places of 31.35. which is 2 decimal places, technically only 55.55 is what matters. I plug the whole thing in order (otherwise if i do it in chunks i get 0.18 as an answer)  after taking them out of scientific notation and i get 34.301. to my comprehension that answer should be rounded to however many sigfigs my intermediate answer was , which was 55.55> 4 sig figs. ( and 2 decimal places such as the 31.25) so to me the answer would be 3.430x10^1. Where did I go wrong?
