Description
Written Assignment 2-Missionary Letter
For this assignment you are to imagine that you are a European Christian (from England, France, Spain, Italy, Netherland, etc.) missionary during the 16th century (1500-1599). Imagine that you have been assigned either to China, Japan, or to the Americas. In your own words, write a letter home to your superior or relative informing him/her of your progress or lack of such. In your letter, be sure to include your nation of origin, assigned location, and, descriptions of political, social, economic as well as religious issues in your missionary location. You may use your History of World Societies text for factual information but be creative and tell your own story!
This assignment should be written in the form of a letter. Remember that a letter has certain components: a greeting, a body, a closing, and a signature. The greeting is where you address the receiver of the letter (example: Dear Mom). The body is the main text of your letter which contains the information you want to convey. The closing includes a short expression (examples: Sincerely, Your Son, etc.). The signature is where you add your name. Your letter should have each of these features to be complete.
Your letter must be at least 500 words, double-spaced. Your letter will be evaluated for content, coherence, and integration of ideas, as well as historical accuracy. Good grammar is expected. No slang is allowed.
