24m2 = 1/2* (2+h) h

24* 2 =2h + h^2

h^2+2h-48 =0

h^2 +8h-6h-48=0

(h-6) (h+8) =0

h-6 =0 or h+8 =0

h= 6 or -8

since height cannot be negative 

h= 6meters

base = 6m+2m

=8 meters
