That kind of situation is not unusual when it comes to big healthcare facilities.  In Georgia where I live and states that have the big university hospitals like Johns Hopkins and Walter Reed down around Washington D.C there are sister hospitals that share healthcare services with other hospitals and many times when relieve efforts are done there are hospitals that will share beds with the wounded and even share their services, this is a situation that happens with many of your small town medical facilities and many times it helps their patient clientele when they can swap bed counts with the bigger medical facilities.
