Explanation & Answer

Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

It all depends on the stage of development of the organization: whether it is a stable environment (allowing delegation), or continuously changing or in a crisis situation. Unpleasant decisions and sacrifices have to be made when the environment is not stable or there is conflict among the members (Abraham Lincoln - American Civil War had to make many such decisions as did Yasser Arafat or Margaret Thatcher; Branston or Bill Gates had to go  it alone at the beginning, relying on gut feeling or will power). It goes without saying that a leader has to lead to get results, and this is the most important objective: to achieve one's aim.

As a matter of fact the charisma of the leader is important and leads people to work harder and accept sacrifices: Imran Khan inspired his players so much that they won the Cricket ICC; Ghandi, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Nelson Mandela are further examples to prove you can get results as well as being liked.

Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.
