Small business administration - McGregor's Theories

timer Asked: Oct 6th, 2015

Question description

"Organizations today are guided more by the philosophical thoughts of Douglas McGregor, who introduced the Theory X and Theory Y concept, which advocates that there is no one best way to manage people.

According to Wren T. (1995). Theory Y encourages individual growth, responsibility and provides a sense of achievement to the individual. It is important to be flexible and adaptable to be supportive and to encourage growth opportunity for individuals whenever possible. This is consistent with McGregor's Theory Y assumptions, regarding managing people. Theory X relates more to task oriented management.

Your thoughts"
