Description
- Dr. Smith conducted an experiment to study the effects of massed versus distributed practice on memory. Twelve participants were randomly assigned to study a short chapter of a history text during either a single 3-hour session or 3 one-hour sessions separated by 24 hours. Twenty-four hours after the study session(s) ended, the participants took an examination on the information in the chapter and the number of correct answers was recorded. Data from that experiment are shown below.

MTH410 Survey Results Fake News Discussion Post
Locate the results of a recent survey that shows at least two variables in a newspaper, magazine, or Internet article. Outline the survey data so that your peers can understand the variables and results, and then identify at least one key formula from this module that you could use to evaluate the data. Provide a brief explanation of why you selected the formula you did and why it matters. Also, explain what the formula is, where it is in the textbook, and clearly define your parameters.Be sure to support your statements with logic and argument, citing any sources referenced. Post your initial response early, and check back often to continue the discussion. Be sure to respond to your peers and instructors posts, as well.Advice: to you this week is to focus on inferences about the differences between two population means or proportions. (Chapter 10) It is just way too easy to get wrapped up in all of the ANOVA formulas (which are not intuitive). The inferences about two means or two proportions are just hypothesis test with slightly more complicated hypothesis statements and test statistics. To set yourself up for success, look for a survey that involves responses from several different groups of people. Then you can set up a hypothesis test (or a test of independence) to compare the responses from the different groups.Textbook infro is attached: This discussion will result in questions after the initional post.

PSY 325 AU Week 1 Descriptive Statistics Data Analysis Worksheet
The Descriptive Statistics Data Analysis assignmentFirst, use either Excel or the Calculator Soup descriptive statistics calculator to calculate the descriptive statistics for the given data set. This is explained in Chapter 1 of your course text. You should get an output similar to the image in Figure 1.3 from your textbook. This output must contain the following values: mean, standard error, median, mode, standard deviation, sample variance, kurtosis, skewness, range, minimum, maximum, sum, and count.Next, begin writing your reporting results for each of the values listed above.Include the data set, the output from the analysis, and the answers to the following questions:Evaluate the measures of central tendency. Address the following when completing this component:1. Which measure of central tendency is most appropriate based on the data type?2. Are the mean, median, and mode close to the same value? If not, what does this tell you about the numbers in the set?3. Identify any mode(s) in the data set. Is there a mode at all? Is there more than one mode?4. Calculate manually the interquartile range and the values of Q1 and Q3. (It is important to calculate this manually because the interquartile range and quartiles output from Calculator Soup might not be accurate.) Address the following when completing this component:5. Test to see if there are any outliers in the set. If so, which number(s)?6. Which method from Section 2.4 of the text did you first use to check for outliers?7. Now try the other method from Section 2.4 of the text. Do you come to the same conclusion about outliers in the data set?8. Explain which descriptive statistic you think best summarizes this set of numbers and why.9. Choose three of the descriptive statistics that you feel best represent this data set. Why were they chosen?Must include an introduction and conclusion paragraph. Your introduction paragraph needs to end with a clear statement that indicates the purpose of your paper, to report and explain your analysis of the data set.Attached Below Are Assignment Requirements including data set required for assignment , Chapter 1 & 2 of textbook and a list that includes both Required and Recommended Resources to choose from.
