Opening the Doors to Your Business, business and finance homework help
After your negotiation and transaction with Mr. Barker, you start to realize that this could be a lucrative business. Your mother has been bugging you for months to get rid of all of the other children's meal toys that you collected over the years. With your estimate, you probably have over $10,000 worth of toys. For this part of the project, you will be starting your own business selling the children's meals toys. At this point in time, you are the only one running the business, and you will not have any employees. If you were to structure a business based on the facts of this situation, which would you choose and why is that the best fit? At this point in time, you are the only one running the business and you will not have any employees.Your paper should be 1-2 pages in length, double-spaced, and properly APA formatted.

HIM 520 Module Eight Case Study Guidelines and Rubric
Overview: In this case study, you will analyze the employee job performance and appraisal process. Case Study: Margie has been a coder in the HIM department of a large acute-care facility for the past 10 years and, prior to working at this organization, she coded for 15 years at a similarly sized acute-care facility. Throughout her coding tenure, Margie mostly coded outpatient encounters such as outpatient observations, outpatient surgeries, and emergency room visits. Two years ago, Margie was cross-trained to code inpatient discharges as well. At last year’s performance appraisal, Margie received an overall score of 3.8 out of 5, which denotes that she “exceeds job performance expectations.” This past performance appraisal cycle, the HIM coding area and Margie personally experienced the following changes: The hospital implemented a new EHR that required extensive training for all hospital employees. The coding area had some management turnover with the long-term coding manager retiring and the coding lead promoted to the coding manager position. The HIM department’s coding productivity was updated to include computer-assisted coding and all coders went from using one monitor to dual monitors. Margie used to sit in a quiet office area with one other individual, but the department was reconfigured and all coders were moved to a central location. The coding office is a large room with each coder occupying a cubby-type area with dividers between each desk. The noise in the open concept office tends to magnify, even with the dividers. Margie’s husband had some health issues as well, which caused Margie to be on family medical leave for six weeks. It is the time of year for conducting all performance appraisal reviews and Margie has expectations that her performance evaluation will be similar to last year’s. Margie’s coding manager set up a time to go over Margie’s review—Friday at 3:00 p.m. in the manager’s office. Margie arrives promptly at the manager’s office, but has to sit outside the office for 10 minutes waiting for the coding manager to finish up a personal phone call. When Margie enters the room, the coding manager has music playing from her iPhone and her computer is open with the email notification on. Margie sits down at the chair on the other side of the manager’s desk; the coding manager hands Margie the evaluation and says, “Review this and let me know if you have any questions, please; I have to answer a few emails because it is Friday afternoon.” Margie reviews the evaluation and is stunned by the final evaluation score that she is receiving this year. Her final score is a 2.8 out of 5 and she is being put on a performance improvement plan (PIP) with no pay raise. There are items included in the evaluation that Margie had no idea had been a problem throughout the year. Margie’s productivity and quality were marked below average and the statistics included in the review were ones that Margie had not seen all year. As Margie reads the evaluation, the coding manager’s phone keeps ringing and the manager keeps answering her emails. Margie is very upset and tries to address the evaluation with the coding manager, which in turn makes the coding manager defensive. The coding manager is not open to discussing any of incidences noted in the evaluation and she states that she does not have time to review Margie’s monthly productivity and quality scores with her. As Margie typically does not like conflict, she signs the evaluation and PIP, but is very upset

Part A. The team has decided to move forward with the company luncheon in the timeframe established. You are about two weeks from the event and there has been little to no management oversight on the performance of the project. Why is it necessary to track actual and committed costs once a project starts? Why is it necessary to calculate the earned value of work performed? Why are the cost control steps important to the project?Part B. A lot can get lost in translation in written communication. You and a project team member haven't been on the same page since the project started. Unfortunately this is a person you have to work closely with in order to complete your tasks for the luncheon. Yesterday she sent you an email in capitalized letters. The email basically delegated all of her work to you. The company utilizes a 9 step approach to addressing problems within the project teams. Explain that process and what you can do to aid in ensuring the problem does not negatively affect the rest of the team and the delivery of the tasks needing to be completed?

who can do my discussion board in government class?
The Texas legislature is a part-time, citizen legislature. It meets only once every two years for 140 days. Members of the Texas House are elected for two-year terms and are paid $7,200 per year.It is interesting to contrast the Texas legislature with a professional legislature, such as New York's. The New York legislature is considered professional because legislators are committed to being full-time representatives; they meet year-round, serve year-round and members are paid $79,500 per year.Former Governor Rick Perry campaigned for president on adapting the Texas model to the U.S. Congress. Perry argued that the Founders intended a "citizen" Congress similar to the one in Texas, with members serving for only a few terms and retaining their regular employment in the private sector. As far back as 2007, Perry remarked, "When you have a full-time legislature, they just feel pretty inclined to be doing something. So they are going to dream up new laws, new regulations and new statutes—and generally all of those cost money." This vision also fits with the principle of limited government—the principle that Congress or the legislature really should have a small role and the more they are in session, the more temptations they have to engage in corrupt practices and to pass laws restricting liberties.Opponents argue that the Texas model is not one that should be adopted for the U.S. Congress or other legislatures. Legislators are not any less prone to corruption under the Texas model. Under either model, lobbyists attempt to influence policy makers, and the fact that legislators have private-sector jobs does not minimize this possibility. Meeting once every two years reduces the time to deliberate and make sensible policies. In Texas, critics argue that the legislative session is rushed, and legislators rely too heavily on staff who work year-round and are more familiar with the ins and outs of policy making. Former Houston-area Congressman Chris Bell also warns that state legislators are more susceptible to corruption because "unless they're retired or independently wealthy, [legislators are] in a tough spot. There aren't a whole lot of jobs that lend themselves to a legislator's schedule, so those in office become prime targets [for lobbyists]." The rush of completing the legislation necessary to govern the state often leaves important issues unresolved, leading to the need for more special sessions. Members who are not independently wealthy are unable to legislate effectively because they cannot just leave their jobs for 140 days at a time every two years. All of these factors result in a less productive legislature. Each person's vision of the proper role of government will likely affect their feelings on this issue. Liberals, who prefer an active government, would probably prefer a full-time legislature that actively addresses social problems. Conservatives, who are not supporters of government activity in the economy, are more likely to support a minimal role for legislators so that citizens are free to make their own choices without governmental interference. What are your thoughts? Why should citizens care about this issue? Do you think the political process and policy outcomes might be influenced by the pay and frequency of sessions of the legislature?
