Explanation & Answer
Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!
The square root of 60 falls between the values of 49 (7*7) and 64 (8*8)
Difference in value 64 - 49 = 15, ergo the square root of 56/57 should be around 7.5
60 being a higher value, we would have to square 7.746 to reach our goal
Square root of 60 = 7.746
Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.Completion Status:

Alternative Fuels
Alternative FuelsVehicles have come a long way from the Model T in the early 1900s. Each year the car industry comes out with new styles and incorporates new technologies. In recent history, the automotive world has shifted its focus to fuel efficiency and the use of different fuel sources. As the world tries to reduce their dependence on fossil fuels, the global community is looking toward a future with a completely new type of car. There are already hybrid and electric cars on the roads today. What will the cars of the future run on? In this unit, you are going to do a little role-playing.Welcome to YourTown, USA! YourTown is rethinking its strategy to encourage alternative fuel use. The city wants to develop a market and infrastructure to accelerate the number of citizens choosing alternative fuel vehicles. For this unit’s Discussion, you are going to be a citizen of YourTown. After conducting some research into different alternative fuels, you will vote for the one you believe will help guide the city in its efforts to support a better and cleaner future.Use the following sources on alternative fuels to get started:U.S. Department of Energy. (2012) Fuel economy. Retrieved from http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/current.shtmlU.S. Department of Energy. (2012) Alternative fuels data center.Retrieved from http://www.afdc.energy.gov/fuels/Use your research to complete the following three components to this unit's discussion:Conduct research on at least three alternative fuels or alternative vehicles (i.e., electric vehicles, hydrogen fuel, or biodiesel) and post your findings, including the pros and cons of each fuel and/or vehicle type. Feel free to research alternative fuel or vehicle choices outside of the examples given. Support your writing with credible references.During the unit, you should interact with your classmates and debate how suitable you think these alternative fuel sources might be for the future of vehicle transportation and YourTown.Later in the unit week, make a post that contains your vote for which alternative fuel source you believe YourTown should create a station for. Be sure to give a clear explanation for your choice.Be sure to review the Discussion Board Course Rubrics. For help with citations, refer to the APA Quick Reference Guide.

Evaluating a Global Health Issue
Assessment Description
"The Global Burden of Disease Study" is conducted by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation and published in The Lancet journal. It captures and analyzes data on many major causes of mortality and morbidity from almost every country. The study allows researchers and practices to compare countries and also help individual countries prioritize major health issues and risk factors with available resources. Review the background of the study by exploring the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation website as well as the various Global Burden of Disease (GBD) reports found in The Lancet journal. Create a PowerPoint presentation (five to seven slides, not including your title or references slide) that addresses one of the top five causes of mortality and morbidity from the Global Burden of Disease Study (GBD). Select the health issue based on a specific country of interest and include the following in your presentation:
Evidence and statistics supporting it as a major health issue, such as the Disability Adjusted Life Years or other measures of mortality and morbidity. Indicate which country you selected.
Four major risk factors related to the health issue.
Potential gaps or limitations in the data.
Three social or economic opportunities to control or reduce the prevalence of this issue (reference the connection to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals).
Points of interest regarding this leading cause of mortality and morbidity related to the country you selected.
For the presentation, use Loom to create a video. Refer to the topic Resources for additional guidance on recording your presentation with Loom. To submit your video, you can either upload the video directly, embed your video into a Word document, or put the link to your video in a Word document and submit the document.
Refer to the resource, "Creating Effective PowerPoint Presentations," located in the Student Success Center, for additional guidance on completing this assignment in the appropriate style.
While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and documentation of sources should be presented using APA formatting guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

Many politicians often express their beliefs or thoughts on science in thepublic arena as whole truths, when many times these statements are anything but. Your project will beto take one of these actual quotes of politicians (politician’s names have been removed) and determinewhether their statements are based in science or belief.1. “If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thingdown.”2. “Wind is a finite resource and harnessing it would slow the winds down whichwould cause the temperature to go up.”3. “All that stuff I was taught about evolution and embryology and the Big BangTheory, all that is lies straight from the pit of Hell. But if I am notmistaken a cyclists [sic] has an increased heart rate and respiration. That meansthe act of riding a bike results in greater emissions of carbon dioxide from therider. Since CO2 is deemed a greenhouse gas and a pollutant, bicyclists areactually polluting when they ride.”5. "There’s a woman who came up crying to me tonight after the debate. She saidher daughter was given that vaccine. She told me her daughter suffered mentalretardation as a result of that vaccine. There are very dangerous consequences."6. "American scientific companies are cross-breeding humans and animals andcoming up with mice with fully functioning human brains. So they're already intothis experiment."7. “Nuclear fission technology is unsafe, expensive, and dirty from the mining ofuranium to the disposal of spent fuel. As such we will end subsidies to the nuclearindustry immediately and phase out nuclear power over a 10 year timeline.Existing nuclear waste will be handled with onsite dry cask storage of high-levelwaste into perpetuity. No transport of nuclear waste.”8. "I thought I would share with you what science says today about silicone breastimplants. If you have them, you're healthier than if you don't. That is what theultimate science shows. … In fact, there's no science that shows that siliconebreast implants are detrimental and, in fact, they make you healthier."9. “You know what, evolution is a myth …Why aren’t monkeys still evolving intohumans?”10. “Carbon dioxide is not a harmful gas; it is a harmless gas ... And yet we're beingtold that we have to reduce this natural substance and reduce the Americanstandard of living to create an arbitrary reduction in something that is naturallyoccurring in the Earth. “11. "Every single year that we’re on Earth, you have huge tons of silt deposited by the Mississippi River, by the Amazon River, by the Nile, by every major river system — and for that matter, creek, all the way down to the smallest systems... And every time you have that soil or rock whatever it is that is deposited into the seas, that forces the sea levels to rise. Because now you’ve got less space in those oceans because the bottom is moving up"12. "Condoms are "very poor" protection against sexually transmitted diseases"13. "By settling the moon, we can build mining and transport on the surface of the moon in its shallow gravity well and the lack of an atmosphere works in our favor. Materials can be launched from the surface of the moon with nothing more than a solar driven catapult. Raw ore and manufactured good can be launched off the surface with ease. There is never a cloudy day on the moon and solar panels work very well in a vacuum. The shallow gravity well and lack of atmosphere means that we can launch from the moon with a mass driver, an electric catapult. Fine tuning and meteor deflection can be done from the surface of the moon.”
