Question description

Process Improvement Project Submission and Discussion

This is an individual assignment.

This project provides an opportunity for each student to customize the course content to his/her specific needs.  Each student is required to select a problem (from work, home, school, etc.) to demonstrate that you can use problem solving tools to find root causes and generate solutions to the problem.  This project counts for 10% of the course grade and it must be submitted in the Process Improvement Project discussion (submit only one complete PowerPoint document that includes the 5 exhibits in accordance with the guidelines below).  I strongly urge you to review the PIP voice thread for additional pointers and cautions regarding the construction of your PIP.

Select the appropriate analysis tool for your data to convince the reader that you have analyzed the root cause(s) and that you have evaluated alternative solutions.

Short-term solution (Containment)

Describe short-term actions required to protect customers from encountering this problem.
