Description

Ultrasonic waves have many applications in technology and medicine. One advantage is that large intensities can be used without danger to the ear.

What is another advantage of their short wavelength? (Why do microscopes use blue
light rather than white light to see detail?)

1. It is easy to cook food with ultrasonic waves.
2. The short wavelengths of ultrasonic waves allow the imaging of smaller objects.
3. Ultrasonic waves are easy to diffract.

Explanation & Answer

Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

its 2. Because you can imagine that in the very small scale of matter, the size of an object may even comparable to wavelength of light.
So if the wavelength is too large (visible light) then the light wave cant "catch" the object for us to see.

Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.
