Explanation & Answer
Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!
One interesting artifact displayed in my friend's house is the mask of a monkey. He said he got the mask from a trip to Bangladesh. Bangladesh, east of India on the Bay of Bengal, is South Asian country of lush greenery and many waterways. When I saw the mask, I realized my friend is very open to different cultures. Though my friend is from Germany, he is interested in the cultures of Asia. That made me realize more about my friend. He is more open and willing to adopt other culture's ideas. This is a positive perception, because I am Chinese and I feel that he gives me more respect. My friend usually has other artifacts such as Roman statues and Greek soldier statues. He is very educated in the fact that he collects art from around the world. That shows respect for art from different cultures.
