Week 9 Discussion 1: "Talent Management Research Priorities"
1. Considering the vast number of diverse groups represented in the workforce, create a brief research agenda that addresses how talent management strategy can proactively attract a diverse workforce. (Please add references if possible).
The Talent management strategy assists in business initiatives for gaining talented individuals with expertise in the targeted industry. The framework is designed for garnering a vast amount of different perspectives to the talent skill set that assists the business in acquiring more of the targeted consumer marketplace. The incentive in research development offers the ability to decipher certain particulars that defined a well diversified talent pool of potential new hires. The core objective in talent management research priorities entail formulating a procedural focus to acquiring new hires within the country that the business operates. In doing so, the available talent is verified and incentives implemented in creating an attractive package towards obtaining and sustaining new hire talent. The company's model in communicating the talent management incentive that provides a lasting commitment to drawing forth a strategy that reinforces utilizing core principles of beneficial aspects for working with the company; such as, compensation, recruitment initiatives, and selection search.
Week 9 Discussion 2: "Research Priorities and Resources"
1. The course has covered a wide variety of talent management topics, and Chapter 22 "Critical Research Issues in Talent Management" of (Strategy-Driven Talent Management-Rob Silzer & Ben Dowell textbook edition, 2010) highlights several ways to view the future of talent management. Prioritize five topics and locate one potential resource to gather information for that topic. For instance, if equity-based pay is one topic, you might select the Journal of Applied Corporate Finance as a possible resource to gain more data about this topic.
Try and think of the types of talent management topics, such as, the retaining of employees to assisting business continuity long-term. The challenges in human resources department to create and sustain a workable solution for managing company's growth can depend on measures placed in force to keep employees. The economy plays a major role in shaping the availability of talent to hire or to keep employees when the company is experience either growth or a slow period of business. The objective is to create a type of value proposition in the subject topic of retaining employees that can reinforce the commitment to offering a beneficial place to work. The diversity factor plays a supportive role, especially, if the company is internationally globally conducting business with locals as employees to showcase willingness to diversify and address needs appropriately. Keep in mind, the leadership role in talent management offers a way to direct focus on sustaining a sufficient talent management.
