  • Visit the Office of Management and Budget.

  • Prepare a brief summary by performing the following items and answering those questions posed:

      1. In a paragraph or two, summarize recent and long-term trends in government spending for the following four functions: National Defense, Health, Income Security and Social Security.
      2. Explain your reasoning for why these trends have been occurring in these areas
    3. Select one other function from Table 3.1 besides those four considered in part 2a.
      1. Explain your chosen function, its importance in the economy and whether it has been capturing growing shares of government spending or has been declining in recent years and why you feel that is the case.

In this Module 4 Web Assignment, you will be evaluating data on Money Stock Measures at FRED (Federal Reserve Economic Data). Complete the following items:

Instructions

Prepare a Three to Five page paper on an economic topic of your choice in which you will address a question or topic. Your chosen topic must allow you the opportunity to include a minimum of three macroeconomic concepts learned in the course.  Your paper may be an informative paper, informing the reader of the question and topic you have addressed, or an argumentative paper in which you support a certain process. 

Requirements:

  • A minimum of three and a maximum of five pages of content, not including your title page and Bibliography. 
    • Include a title page with your name, title of the paper, the class, instructor and the date. 
    • Number all of the pages except the title page in your paper. 
    • Include a Bibliography with reference citations.
  • Double-spaced with 1 inch margins and font size 11 or 12, no smaller and no larger.
  • Include one graphic within the paper which must be a table, chart or graph addressing your topic.  Do not include pictures.
  • Include your last name in the file name of the document and submit as a .doc, .docx, .rtf, or .pdf file.
