how can atoms occupy a void in a crystal lattice?
Question Description
Diamond has cubic close packing and Carbon atoms occupy the corners and the face center of a unit cell,right?and then it occupies half the tetrahedral void...but radius of void is lass than the sphere's ,ie here the carbon atom...so how can a carbon atom fit into a smaller space ,the void?
