SOCW6333 Walden Wk 8 Differences of Survivors of Trauma and Trauma Respons Paper
Due 04/20/2019Trauma-response helping professionals are often damaged by brutal events and may feel rage and grief over the intentional or unintentional harm done to others. As a result, it is not uncommon to find them traumatized by such experiences. Those who experience primary trauma, including trauma-response helping professionals working with clients, often have similar needs related to treatment. It is essential that you recognize what interventions are appropriate for primary trauma and those interventions appropriate for vicarious trauma.Assignment (2–3 pages): (Be very detailed in response, Use APA references and use subheading in response)Compare two similarities and two differences between the symptoms of survivors of trauma and trauma-response helping professionals experiencing vicarious trauma.Using the current research, describe an evidence-based intervention that can be used for helping professionals who might experience vicarious trauma.Explain the implications of vicarious trauma preparedness and training on your future professional role, especially as it relates to working with survivors of trauma. Be specific.Identify one insight you had or conclusion you drew based upon the comparison. Be specificReferencesBercier, M. L., & Maynard, B. R. (2015). types of crimes (discussion) 300 words
Types of CrimeDr. McDonald is a general practitioner who runs a medical clinic located in a low-income area in Anytown. The majority of his clientele receive government assistance—Medicaid—for medical care. The clinic runs a Saturday program directed at childhood health, where Dr. McDonald comes out and sits with all the kids for about half an hour. He doesn’t deliver medical services, but he charges the children’s insurance for office calls and various procedures. Randy has been on unemployment since his plant shut down. In an act of desperation he walks into a crowded mall and sits in the playground section. When he sees a child distract his mother he grabs the woman's purse and runs off with it. After this successful theft, he learns to circulate around to the different malls in his area and repeat the scenario.Explain how the conflict perspective would explain the differential treatment of a street criminal and a white-collar criminal.
