Executive Summary
XYZ Fitness Center will serve the Seattle-area business population and help them to achieve
productive and healthy lives while using very minimal costs. The business is founded on two
simple principles which are:
1. Employees who are healthy are more productive than those who are prone to falling sick.
2. It is less costly to prevent the occurrence of injuries than to treat people after the
occurrence of diseases.
At XYZ Fitness Center we engage directly with workers in ensuring that we promote their
productivity and so eliminate the health care issue (Paloalto, 2006). We are of the belief that the
traditional ways of solving healthcare problems are not clear enough to solve the current
problems. The traditional efforts are what we currently call a reactive approach which means that
they wait until when a worker has been exposed to an illness or some injury and then their
treatments are paid for. The approach we have adopted entails an emphasis on prevention and
promotion of good health outcomes which is generally a more proactive one.
By engaging in assisting employees to change their behavior patterns and take up more healthy
life choices, XYZ Fitness will ensure that the healthcare expenditure for most companies is
reduced to a minimum and at the same time helping in raise the productivity of the workers
(Ashley, 2015). Healthcare expenses will be decreased as a result of the use of medical insurance
premiums, reduced cases of absenteeism from work, reduced rates of turnover of the workers,
reduced cases of compensation for the employees of the company, decreased tardiness, and
decreased stays in the hospital among others.

The current state of the health care in America, emphasized by the present demographic changes
that are being witnessed, are not right as they threaten to make the situation worse and lead to
lower morale in workers hence reducing their productivity (Catalyst Fitness, 2013). These
environmental factors together with the prevailing competitive situation are indicative of
favorable outcomes in the market of fitness. This gives us the conviction that XYZ Fitness has
entered the market at the right time.
Objectives of XYZ Fitness Center
XYZ Fitness Center has three objectives which have been outlined below: (Haroon, 2014)
1. To offer wellness strategies or programs to the business community in the Seattle area.
2. To create warm relationships with over 20 companies by December 2016.
3. To expand XYZ Fitness into other regions such as Portland, Oregon by December 2017.
Mission of XYZ Fitness Center
XYZ Fitness is a health service that enables businesses and individual employees of
organizations achieve the greatest health benefits through training and gym exercises. The
personal gains such as improvement in employee’s self-esteem as well as their self-motivation
that results into outcomes that can be measured will result into significant advantages for both
the workers and their employer (Paloalto, 2006).

Goals that will need to be satisfied
The goals of the fitness center are three and they include: the center aims to reach a 60% class
capacity in enrollment by the end of the year after starting its operation. The second goal is to
acquire 200 and over memberships by the end of the year that it shall have started operation and
the third and last goal is to increase the membership by 20% after the second year that it shall
have been in operation.
